The SEIU Is Attempting To Organize Our Hospitals
Before You Sign that Card, Read, Research and Decide.
The SEIU is one of the most decertified unions in the country, WHY???

Has the California Nurses Association Brought You Satisfaction?

The CNA Claims to be the "Voice for Nurses"

What Positive Changes Has This Voice Brought To You?

Registered Nurses of Western Medical Center Anaheim, Chapman Medical Center and Coastal Communities Hospital, has the California Nurses Association kept its promise? We want to know.

The CNA is attempting once again to organize Western Medical Center Santa Ana and the claim is that the union has brought sweeping change and satisfied nurses to you, our sister facilities. They are using you as an example and Western Medical Center RN's want to hear from you, our respected colleagues.

Since voting against CNA representation management has matched salary increases every year. Per Diem RN's just received a 7% increase in June of 2006 and the rest of the nursing staff is scheduled for an increase in August. Our salaries and benefits remain competitive in the community.

Western Medical Center Santa Ana has a Magnet Organizing Committee staffed by RN's from every unit. nurses. Attendance is paid. Representatives from management as well as staff attend each meeting.

Western Medical Center Santa Ana has established Unit Based Professional Practice Councils. Council members are volunteer staff nurses from each unit and are NOT hand picked by management. Council members meet at least once a month and discuss ways to effect positive change for their units and for their patients. Attendance is paid.

We have CABG Committee, Fall Committee, Code Blue Committee, Nurse Quality Council and many more.

We have an in house float pool.

We are trialing a "weekends only" bonus program.

Nurses here float in "pods" based on their training and specialty. Orientation is given and if it has been a while since you have floated, reorientation is offered and encouraged. Every attempt is made to staff float pool, registry or travelers before staff is floated. Volunteers float first, followed by per diems, part time then full time.

Do you like to pick up and extra shift occasionally? If you do then bonuses are given for extra shifts. There is no such thing as mandatory overtime.

Western Medical Center Santa Ana Nurses have all this and more and they do not pay union dues.

What do you have to say? Post a message on the comments section and let your voices be heard. Send an E-Mail to the Webmaster@stopunions.com with information you would like posted on the website. We have heard that the CNA has taken some of you to collections over union dues payment, is this true? Email a copy of the collections notice for posting here on the website. You may "white out" your personal information if you desire.
